A number of the country’s disc jockeys will be performing alongside South African kwaito group TKZee during the opening of the 2010 World Cup, which will be viewed from the big screen at the Prince of Wales sports ground on Friday.
Mthunzi ‘Shadow’ Zwane of Swaziboy Entertainment said all the DJs under his stable would be performing at the event. These are DJs Crooks, Wicked, Papz, Mbo, Rekoder, Tendaness, Smish and local diva Lando. He said there would also be special performances by SwaziBoy DJs accompanied with a diski dance schools’ competition, predict the score and win, penalty shoot-outs and ball juggling competitions, speed tunnel and many more. expected “We have a number of entertainment activities where people will be expected to take part,” he said. MTN Corporate Affairs Manager Mphumelelo Makhubu said the historic event would commence at 10am on the day. He invited football followers to cram the Prince of Wales to watch the first ever World Cup game on African soil that will pit the hosts South Africa against Mexico. He said the spectators would watch the game live on the big screen. Makhubu highlighted that the entrance would be free and people would walk away with lots of freebies from the company in celebration of the global showpiece. “This is part of the celebration of the first ever World Cup to be hosted on African soil. “We have decided to feature the famous South African musical group to spice up the event. Soccer followers are invited to come and celebrate with MTN and the entrance will be free,” said Makhubu. South Africa play Mexico in the tournament’s opening game at the Soccer City in Johannesburg, starting at 4pm. |
