Cape Town International Jazz Festival

South Africa’s multiple-award winning trio, TKZee is one of the headline acts at this year’s Cape Town International Jazz Festival on Sunday 4 April, 2010. TKZee is expected to be part of a galaxy of stars including George Benson, Lira, Jonathan Butler, Ronny Jordan Organ Trio, Vusi Mahlasela, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Rachelle Ferrell as well as other local and international acts.

The group will perform with a live 8 piece band as a manifestation of their desire to present their music on live platforms.  TKZee “Unplugged Sessions” were debuted on 16 December 2009 and fans can look forward to many more.

Two (2) TKZee fans and their partners have a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the group’s VIP guests at the weekend-long festival. The lucky duo wil win accommodation, a weekend pass to see the band live and dinner with the legendary trio. A further two weekend pass double tickets can be won by Cape Town based TKZee fan. After a seven year break, the trio’s critically acclaimed “Coming Home” album honours their roots while embracing a distinctive, futuristic sound that keeps pace with a dynamic musical world. With the Coming Home album, TKZee continues to stand out, never apprehensive to do what is necessary to keep their music innovative and relevant.

TKZee is a group that effortlessly displays its versatility. As such not every track on Coming Home is upbeat and party-ready. There are several songs towards the end of the album that reveal the maturity and depth of the band members. This is the “Guz cocktail’ that festival goers can look forward to experiencing

The trio recently shot their second music video ‘Dikakapa’ which aired for the first time on the 19 February 2010 on ‘LIVE’ SABC 1.
